Why did I choose Journalism?

By César H. Navarro

No, the preference for the stress and little money  wasn´t the reason.  Becoming a youtuber or famous wasn´t either, although I like it (insert meme of eeeeeeellaaaa here please).

I chose this career for all the alternatives to do that it has. I always, since I was a child, I wanted to be a teacher. Sometimes history, or languages or music. This dream continues on me until today.

My problem is that I liked doing a lot of things How to choose just one? Can I do a lot at the same time? So, during my teenage years the wish to be a teacher was accompanied for the wish to be archeologyst, designer, musician, an actor, plastic artist, writter, etc. I am good in all those things (modesty aside). But like third grade I decided say bai bai to the pedagogy. I thought in the actual state of the traditional education and I felt trapped, and I felt bad. The way of the system isn´t how I want to teach. Maybe in the future.

So I, who always know what study, fell in the perfect metaphore of limbo (and not, does not the ideal daddy yankee´s party).
One day, the school took us to an university fair (or student hunt, please). This day was magical, cause between all the stands, papers, mints and pens, I put my damaged eyes just in one brochure: Journalism. I read the description, and I investigated more. The mission, the options of things to do, the technical, the possibility to learn about so much, to know a lot of people, to get drunk.

During this process I remembered that I played with radio, with news paper, recording sounds an d videos. And I said: T H I S

This career lets me do and mix all the things that I always liked. And also it opened a door for me into new roads to explore, discover, and enjoy knowledge.

Also, being a journalist has a social duty I like. I want to take it, I want to do a change with my work.

I am at the perfect place, being happy and always thinking and doing new projects.
